DELTA GOVERNMENT REBUFFS ALLEGATIONS OF GOVERNOR’S BETRAYAL

The Delta State Government has rubbished allegations made by The Committee for Transparency and Good Governance (CTGG) that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has betrayed the Urhobo Nation by awarding pipeline surveillance contracts unfairly. According to the government, the claims are unfounded and misleading, as the Governor has no authority over the award or renewal of such contracts. The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, stated that the responsibility for pipeline surveillance contracts lies solely with the Federal Government and its relevant agencies. He accused the CTGG of attempting to incite the people of Delta State, particularly the Urhobo Nation, against the Governor with their claims. Ahon emphasized that Governor Oborevwori has consistently shown his commitment to the progress and development of Delta State and the Urhobo Nation through his administration’s MORE Agenda. He added that the Governor remains focused on delivering good governance and would not be swayed by baseless propaganda and politically motivated attacks. The government has reaffirmed its commitment to fairness, equity, and inclusive governance for all Deltans.
