GOVERNOR OKPEBHOLO LEADS EDO IN FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS

Governor Monday Okpebholo recently led Edo State in a grand Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City. The event was part of the 2025 yuletide celebrations. In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Edo State, Ebojele Akhere Patrick PhD, said the gathering brought together residents, religious leaders, and top government officials for an evening of worship, reflection, and celebration. Governor Okpebholo delivered a lesson from Psalm 9:3–7, reflecting on God’s faithfulness. He urged the people to continue trusting in God while working together to sustain peace, harmony, and progress. The Governor reassured residents that Edo State remains safe and secure for all, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and the protection of lives and property. He noted that Christmas offers an opportunity for renewed hope and collective responsibility in building a stronger state. Also speaking, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, described Christmas as a season of love, sharing, and selfless service. She encouraged citizens to embrace values that promote peaceful coexistence. The festival featured performances by choristers from churches across the state, and a raffle draw provided prizes for attendees. Patrick noted the event was widely described as a success, reinforcing the Governor’s message of faith, unity, and peace. Ebojele Akhere Patrick stated the festival served as a fitting prelude to the Christmas celebrations in Edo State.
