GOVERNOR OKPEBHOLO SYMPATHISES WITH AUCHI KINGDOM OVER DEADLY TANKER FIRE

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed deep sadness over a tragic fire incident in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area, caused by a fallen petroleum tanker. The fire outbreak involved several vehicles, causing grief and distress to families, motorists, and residents. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, the Governor described the incident as painful and unfortunate. He commiserated with the Otaru of Auchi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh Ikelebe III, and the entire people of Auchi Sacred Kingdom. “This unfortunate incident is a painful reminder of the dangers associated with the transportation of petroleum products on our highways. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Auchi Sacred Kingdom at this difficult time,” Governor Okpebholo said. The Governor extended heartfelt sympathies to all those who suffered losses, including individuals whose vehicles and properties were destroyed. He prayed for the repose of the souls of any deceased and for the quick recovery of the injured. Ebojele stated that the Governor assured the people of Auchi that the Edo State Government is working closely with emergency and safety agencies to assess the situation, support victims, and implement measures to prevent a recurrence. Governor Okpebholo urged motorists and tanker drivers to strictly adhere to safety regulations and traffic laws to safeguard lives and property. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of Edo people and called for calm and cooperation with authorities. Patrick Akhere Ebojele further noted that the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment as investigations into the incident continue.
