EDO NUJ MOURNS DEATH OF THISDAY CORRESPONDENT AUSTIN ADIBE EMEYONU

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, has announced the passing of its member, Mr. Austin Adibe Emeyonu, the State Correspondent of THISDAY Newspapers. In a statement signed by the Council’s Chairman, Dr Festus Alenkhe, and Secretary, Mr. Andy Egbon, the union expressed deep sorrow over his death, which occurred on the night of Friday, October 17, 2025. Dr. Alenkhe stated, “We are heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Austin Adibe Emeyonu, who was full of life and in high spirits just hours before his passing.” Emeyonu was spotted at the Press Centre in Benin City on the day of his death, interacting freely with colleagues. The NUJ extended its condolences to his family, friends, and the journalism community.
